Terms & Conditions of hire
Hire of the studio(s) is subject to the following terms and conditions:
Clarification of terms
The 'customer' means the person, company or organisation and/or their agents or representatives hiring the studio and includes all personnel working for, or connected with, the customer on whatever basis.
The 'hire period' includes all the time when the hirer is in occupation including times when hirer's equipment or other belongings are inside the building, even though the building may be locked and no-one is present.
The 'studio' means all or any part of the building including the grounds and surroundings, even those not specifically hired to the customer.
In an effort to provide an exceptional and unrivalled level of customer service, ISL Studio will at all times endeavour to be reasonable. However, in the case of dispute between customers and ISL Studio, English Law will be applicable.
The Agreement
1. ISL make no claims for the fitness for purpose of any aspect of the studio. Customers should ask for a free, no obligation tour (at a mutually convenient time), or discuss in depth by telephone, to check out the suitability of any element before their hire period commences.
2. ISL can make no promises as to availability of the studio unless agreed in writing. The period of hire cannot be extended except by prior agreement, or in exceptional circumstances, if available.
3. ISL do not provide insurance cover for customers hiring the studio, nor any of their equipment. The sign reproduced at the end of this document is displayed in a prominent position in the studio. It forms part of the hire agreement but does not limit it. To the satisfaction of ISL, customers will repair damage and make good losses they cause during the hire period.
4. The customer takes responsibility for following all fire and safety rules during the hire period. A representative of ISL will be available to provide training upon request at a mutually convenient time before the hire commences.
5. ISL shall have no liability to the customer for consequential losses which result from power cuts, external noise or other events or breakdowns which obstruct, delay or prevent in any way use of the studio. Liability shall be limited to an additional hire period at the discretion of ISL.
6. During the hire period the customer shall not cause noise or other disturbance in the local vicinity which could lead to action by individuals, companies or organisations against the studio.
7. Where ISL provide assisting or other services, any persons performing these services are under the sole control and direction of the customer (subject to the request being reasonable).
8. When entering any other area of the building without being accompanied by an agent of ISL, customers accept responsibility for ensuring the safety and security of that area even though that area has not been hired to the customer.
9. Any defects found in the studio infrastructure or any other area within ISL Studio should be brought to the attention of a member of the ISL staff. A customer who identifies an unacceptable risk then continues to work is deemed to accept liability for any consequences that follow.
10. At the end of the hire period the customer agrees to leave the studio in a condition at least equal to its condition at the commencement of the hire period.
11. The hire period does not end until the studio is formally handed back to a member of the ISL staff. Prior to departure, please ensure the security of the studio, by confirming completion of the hire period with ISL staff.
12. In the event of a confirmed hire being cancelled, ISL reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee equivalent to but not exceeding the cost of the hire.
13. Payment is due before your hire period begins. A booking fee is required at the time of booking (50% of the hire cost, or £30, whichever is the greater), with the remainder of the balance being due before your hire period commences.
14. Damage to the studio stage floor and/or backdrops must be paid for upon completion of your hire period. Damage to the white studio floor will be charged at £25 as it will require a full repaint. Damage to the backdrops (including dirt, stains and marks) will be charged at £5 per metre as required. We operate a strict no shoes policy on the stage please, unless agreed before hand.
15. Customers who do not understand any of these terms and conditions should seek clarification from a representative of ISL.
